So I finally came early to beat the crowd and see what the fuss is about. I ordered the Yangzhou fried rice, XO fried rice, stir-fried green beans, and Chinese milk buns. The first thing I noticed was the portion size—very generous for each dish, especially for the price. One bowl can easily satisfy one person, maybe even be shared with some side dishes. Flavor-wise, the Yangzhou fried rice was aromatic and loaded with bits of egg, prawn, peas, and ham. But taste-wise, I found it a bit too mild—like it was missing that final hit of salt or soy sauce to make it pop. The XO fried rice had a nice kick of heat and umami, slightly bolder than the Yangzhou, but still leaned on the less-salty side for my Indonesian palate. The stir-fried green beans were fantastic—crunchy, garlicky, and seasoned just right. It balanced out the richer, heavier fried rice with a burst of texture. But the dish that stole the show? The Chinese milk buns. Perfectly golden and crispy outside, warm and fluffy inside, and served with a thick, sweet condensed milk dip that made them completely irresistible. I could honestly come back just to order those and be totally content. The restaurant itself gets very busy fast, so it’s best to come early or be prepared for a short wait. “ I have been wanting to try Lilong for quite awhile, but the queues have always been long when i have walked past on the weekends, and I now understand why. We came on a Monday for lunch and got a table quite easily. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, you place your order on a printed menu. We tried the Hagao Prawn steamed dumplings which are amazing and a must have, the pork and prawn wonton soup, Shandong crispy skin chicken which was amazing and Shanghai styled fried rice which didn’t look very much but full of flavour. Servings are quite large and reasonably priced. There is outdoor seating but we were happy to be inside on a cold day. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu. ”

“ One of my favourite Chinese restaurants in Town, I enjoyed every dish we ordered except Dumplings I wouldn’t order again when I go back. Dumplings seemed to undercooked and pastries were quite thick and hard to chew and lack of flavour. The rest of dishes were delicious . Been there many times when I want to catch up with my friends in town. Best green beans in town My favourite tofu and green beans every time I go I order these dishes ”
